Nisha JamVwal- a lady of rare fortitude and courage -received the ‘Womens Achievers Award’ from the ‘World Women Leadership Congress’ on February the 15th, 2014 for her outstanding career performance and CSR work by Dr. R.L. Bhatia, Founder & Chief Editor, World CSR Day. Nisha’s life has been one of courage and determination where she treated Crisis and adversity as allies to catapult herself into a brand known for design and excellence. Her joie the vivre and exuberance in the face of personal challenge and hardship even caught the eye of world famous author Jeffrey Archer so that he chronicled her real story in his tale ‘Caste Off’ in the book ‘And Thereby Hangs A Tale’, where she isthe protagonist, called by her real name – Nisha JamVwal.
Nisha has worked extensively in the NGO sector. Her work with traditional Indian craftsmen as a crusader to save our dying Indian crafts is world renowned, and she has authored two books on saving Indian Craft.
Nisha recently conducted the auction for Orphaned children , promoting the cause of adoption for the NGo‘Catalysts for Social Action’.She is on the board of AID (Accessibility For Individuals With Disability) where she works with the public sector to build ramps and wider doors, public facilities and transport conducive for the disabled.
Nisha also worked and put together the ‘India On Canvas’ auction for Khushii Foundation for street children where she had AishwaryryaBachan, Amitabh Bachchan, Praful Patel, Sunil Bharati Mittal, BalasahebThackrey, SushmitaSen, PawanMunjal, Tina Ambani paint for the cause of street children.
Recently Nisha raised funds for ‘Teach For India’ and is currently involved with working on further fundraising for them.
Apart from this Nisha has worked for PFA (people for animals) withSrimatiMenaka Gandhi, she has worked at ‘I Am She’ for the girl child and against female foeticide with SushmitaSen, as well as with famed cricketer Chris Cains for education of underprivileged children. Nisha’s greatest drivers are service for the betterment of the less fortunate and works tirelessly, altruistic ally to help their lot with a sense of dedication and perseverance. Nisha has won awards for being a woman of courage and fortitude and an exemplary career in the world of Design, Art and writing, as well as a multitasking style Icon in India and internationally.
Nisha writes and authors six columns on lifestyle, design and relationships management and is a famed Luxury Brand Consultant with Luxury Brands like Zoya by the house of TATA. She is a qualified Interiors Architect and has won the Outstanding student award at the Brooks College of Design California, as well as has been a topper in receiving her bachelors in English Literature.
Recently Nisha raised funds for ‘Teach For India’ and is working on doing more fundraising for them.Apart from this Nisha has worked for PFA (people for animals) for Srimati Menaka Gandhi.
